The Earliest Record of ZnO - Egypt
ZnO was referred to as Calamine in ancient Egypt, which is a natural mineral Smithsonite with ZnCO3 as its main compound. Because of long history, there was no knowledge of how diseases were cured .However, this is the earliest written record of human being making use of natural zinc minerals.

Medical Treatment History of Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide is also known as "Lu-Gan-Stone" in China , according to Ben Cao Gang Mu, a masterpiece completed in 1596 summarizing the use and functionality of a wide range of Chinese herbal medicines. Zinc oxide has been used in medical treatment for quite number of years in China, only that no proper name like zinc oxide was given.
